01/25/2012 - Calgary, AB (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Calgary Stampeders signed quarterback Drew Tate to a contract extension Wednesday.

"Drew Tate showed last season that he can be a winning starting quarterback in this league," said Calgary head coach and general manager John Hufnagel. "I'm looking forward to see what Drew can do over the course of a full season and also excited that he will be a big part of this club for years to come."

Tate supplanted Henry Burris as the starter late in the 2011 season, leading the Stamps to consecutive wins over Saskatchewan, Montreal and Winnipeg. He finished the year with 1,346 passing yards, eight touchdowns and a 94.6 quarterback rating.
